Cost: FREE

Details: This event is by invitation only, Mr. Tucker decides who participates based on overall performance at the junior golf camp. Players with the overall best 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place scores from this tournament will be authorized to represent BCC in any Rochester District Golf Association events for junior golfers in the following year, which is a great honor and great tournament experience.

Trophies will be awarded to the first place finishers in Pee Wee - "B" flight (7-9 years of age), the "A" flight (10-12 years of age), and the Championship Flight (13-15 years of age and low handicap players) groups.

The tournament will be a 9 hole tournament held on the front 9

Pee Wee's will tee off from the 200 yard post area on the right hand side of each fairway for all par 4 and par 5 holes, and from the red tees on par 3 holes. "A" Flight and Championship Flight players will play all holes from the red tees.

Strict adherence to the rules of golf apply, which is a change from the mini tournaments we conduct at the end of each week during junior golf camp. Players will be responsible for supplying all their own equipment and balls. Adult caddies age 16 or older are mandatory, and they must restrict their activity to that of a caddy. No coaching will be permitted, we want the players to experience the feel of a bona fide tournament. No players will be allowed to use a cart, spectators may do so at their own cost.

Also included for participants:
  • Greens fees
  • Small bucket of range balls (junior golfers must be supervised by an adult at all times while using the range facilities)

NEW 2010 BCC Junior Golf Playing Camp for 16 & 17 Year Olds

BCC is pleased to offer a new extension of our junior golf program, a playing camp for experienced students ages 16 and 17. This is a one week camp that will include a structured 30 minute group lesson, a few minutes to practice putt before their round, then 9 holes of golf on BCC's back nine holes (there may be instances where the front nine is played depending on course commitments).

The lesson will start at exactly 7 am Monday through Thursday, followed by nine holes of golf from the white tees on the back nine. Tee times will start at exactly 7:50 am, so there won't be any dead time. Players will be grouped in foursomes, threesomes, or twosomes, depending on the number of participants. Players should be done by about 9:45 am to 10 am. Parents will have a better handle on the end time after the first day of play.

Each attendee will also receive an 18 hole greens fee pass, to be used any Monday through Friday by the end of the year.

If we get any rainouts, players will receive a 9 hole pass in lieu of that days play. Players that have attended junior golf camp know that we play in the rain, but not if there's lightening.

The lesson will take more of an adult approach vs. the adolescent approach that is presented in junior golf camp. It will be fun, and it also will be work.

On Friday, there will be a nine hole tournament starting at 6:30 am played on the front nine from the white tees, following the USGA Rules of Golf. There will be a brief awards presentation ceremony following the awards ceremony for the Junior Golf Camp Tournament, which will be held concurrent with the 16 & 17 year old tournament, but on the back nine.

Parents please note, that the players will be playing nine holes with their group, on their own, without any supervision. We anticipate that 16 and 17 year old students are mature enough to handle this arrangement, and if any parent has an older junior golf camp participant that would be mature enough and good enough to participate, they can check with Mr. Tucker for age exceptions, and his decision on participation will be final.

Class size is limited to maximum of twelve students, first come first served. Thomas Tucker, USGTF & PGTCA Certified Class "A" Golf Instructor will conduct the camp. Cost is $75 for the week for non-members of BCC, and $45 for members. Payment is required prior to the scheduled week of class.

This camp is currently being scheduled for only one week, the week of July 5th through 9th, 2010 Cost: $75 per student, payment is required ASAP to reserve your spot. For more information or to sign up, please contact the Batavia Country Club (585) 343-7600 ext 10.

BCC Junior Golf Camp 2010

BCC is pleased to offer it's 2010 Junior Golf Camp Program. It's a one week camp, approximately 2.5 hours per day. Class size is limited to maximum of twenty students, first come first served. Thomas Tucker, USGTF & PGTCA Certified Class "A" Golf Instructor will conduct the camp. It's a great way for anyone ages 7 through 15 to learn the game of golf and have fun with their peers. Cost is $75 for the week, payment is required prior to the scheduled week of class. Camp is being presented on several different weeks to accommodate schedules, times are from 8:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. daily Monday through Thursday, and a Friday morning tournament that starts a bit earlier and runs about 2.5 hours. Each attendee will also receive a 9 hole greens fee pass, to be used any Monday through Friday (when accompanied by an adult) by the end of the year. Any skill level is welcome.

We are grouping all the Pee Wee students - ages 7,8,and 9 - in the same week - July 6th through 10th, 2010. Their course is modified from the other weeks and age groups to accommodate this particular age group.

Students between the ages of 10 and 15 may participate in camp in any of the other weeks, and this year we are going to try and work in some more course exposure to prepare for the Friday Tournament. Students may register for multiple weeks if they wish.

Students are expected to participate with their own clubs. A very limited number of junior clubs are available for use through Mr. Tucker, so if a student does not have clubs please let BCC or Mr. Tucker know well ahead of time and we'll try to work something out based on availability.

Golf camp will cover: putting, chipping, pitching and the full swing, rules, and golf etiquette. The format for each class will be discussion, drills, use of training aids, skills practice, and a competition at the end of each class for a prize. There is also a tournament on Friday morning and a brief informal awards ceremony afterwards for contest winners for the week. In the event of rain, we'll still conduct the lesson in the pavilion. A soft drink is provided for the daily break, students should provide their own snacks.

Dates for this year's camp are as follows:

  • Pee Wee's only - ages 7-9:
    Week 1 - Monday through Friday, 07/05/10 - 07/09/10

  • All other ages 10-15:
    Week 2 - Monday through Friday, 07/12/10 to 07/16/10
    Week 3 - Monday through Friday, 07/19/10 to 07/23/10
    Week 4 - Monday through Friday, 07/26/10 to 07/30/10

Cost: Still only $75 per student per week, payment is required ASAP to reserve your spot. For more information or to sign up, please contact the Batavia Country Club (585) 343-7600 ext 10.

Some restrict play to weekdays only, but some make exceptions. The Pro Shop at BCC will call for you and make the tee time for your group.
