BCC Junior Golf Camp 2008
BCC is pleased to offer it's 2008 Junior Golf Camp Program. It's a one week
camp, approximately 2.5 hours per day. Class size is limited to maximum
of twenty students, first come first served. Thomas Tucker, USGTF & PGTCA
Certified Class "A" Golf Instructor will conduct the camp. It's a great
way for anyone ages 7 through 15
New for 2008
to learn the game of golf and have fun
with their peers. Cost is $75 for the week, payment is required prior
to the scheduled week of class. Camp is being presented on several
different weeks to accommodate schedules, times are from 8:30 A.M.
to 11:00 A.M. daily Monday through Thursday, and a Friday morning
tournament that starts a bit earlier and runs about 2.5 hours. Each
attendee will also receive a 9 hole greens fee pass, to be used any
Monday through Friday (when accompanied by an adult) by the end of the
year. Any skill level is welcome.
New for 2008
This year, we are grouping all the Pee Wee students - ages 7,8,and 9 -
in the same week - July 7th through 11th, 2008, and the course will be
modified somewhat from the previous years to accomodate this particular
age group.
New for 2008
We have raised the upper age limit from 14 years to 15 years for our golf
camp to accomodate requests from parents. Students between the ages of
10 and 15 may participate in camp in any of the other weeks, and this year we
are going to try and work in some more course exposure to prepare for
the Friday Tournament.
Students should bring their own clubs if they have them. A very limited
number of junior clubs are available for use through Mr. Tucker, so if
a student does not have clubs please mention it when you sign up and
we'll try to work something out based on availability.
Golf camp will cover: putting, chipping, pitching and the mini swing,
the full swing, rules, and golf etiquette. The format for each class
will be discussion, drills, use of training aids, skills practice, and
a competition at the end of each class for a prize. There is also a
tournament on Friday morning and a brief informal awards ceremony
afterwards for contest winners for the week. In the event of rain,
we'll still conduct the lesson in the pavilion. A soft drink is
provided for the daily break, students should provide their own snacks.
Dates for this year's camp are as follows:
- Pee Wee's only - ages 7-9:
Week 1 - Monday through Friday, 07/07/08 - 07/11/08
- All other ages 10-15:
Week 2 - Monday through Friday, 07/14/08 to 07/18/08
Week 3 - Monday through Friday, 07/21/08 to 07/25/08
Week 4 - Monday through Friday, 07/28/07 to 08/01/07
Cost: $75 per student per week, payment is required ASAP to reserve
your spot. For more information or to sign up, please contact the
Batavia Country Club (585) 343-7600 ext 10.
BCC Group Lessons
Details:
We like to keep the Group Lesson size between 4 to 6 students. If you would
like to attend any, please stop by or call the BCC Pro Shop - 585 343-7600 ext 13
and ask the attendant to
sign your name for any or all of the Group Lessons. If the Group Lessons are full,
there is a space for alternates. Put your name and contact information
on the alternate list and we'll let you know if anything opens up,
and when we'll be doing it again.
After May 10th you can send me an email for a reservation -
ttucker@rochester.rr.com - or you can sign up at BCC.
We do require that new students start with Group Lesson 1 and proceed in
order through the Group Lesson progression. If you've had lessons from Mr. Tucker
before, you may select any Group Lesson that you specifically want to brush up on.
If we happen
to get a really large response, we'll schedule more Group Lessons. Each Group Lesson
lasts about an hour, we'll go over theory, technique, drills, and have
a contest at the end of the Group Lesson for a prize. It's a lot of fun, you'll
make a few new friends and you'll also learn something - a combination
that's hard to beat!
Age ranges are 17 years old to 100 years old -actually, if you are
older than 100 and can still swing a club, we'll pick up your tab - and
all genders are welcome. All skill levels are also welcome,
beginner to advanced.
The cost per Group Lesson is $25, payable on the night of the lesson.
Here's the 2008 Spring schedule:
Brush Up Group Lesson: Date TBA -
we'll start at the putting green. For students that have taken the
full package from me in the past, we'll cover everything briefly,
1 hr duration - theory, drills, and practice.
Group Lesson 1: Putting: Dates TBA
Group Lesson 2: Chipping: Dates TBA
Group Lesson 3: 3/4 swing and Pitching: Dates TBA
Group Lesson 4: Full Swing: Dates TBA
We send an email follow up after every lesson to each person
individually, synopsizing what we did and pointing out flaws and
corrective drills.
More information on lessons is available here:
